Yonah Berman
President
Rabbi Yonah Berman serves as Dean of Rabbinic Initiatives at YCT. He works closely with over 250 alumni around the world, heads its Rikmah program for Israeli rabbis and focuses on the Yeshiva's public-facing programs. He believes in building bridges within and beyond the Jewish community through Torah and Gemilut Chasadim.
Rabbi Berman grew up in various Jewish communities throughout the United States and Israel before spending time studying at Yeshivat Har Etzion, Yeshiva University and Yeshivat Chovevei Torah. He also served in the IDF, where he was awarded for excellence in training at the IDF Armor School, and has led a number of missions to Israel over the past year.
He has completed fellowships with Atra and Clal, sees the IRF as a place for its members to to grow as individuals and collaborate as a clergy community.
Before joining the YCT administration, Rabbi Berman served as Associate Rabbi of Congregation Shaar Hashomayim in Montreal, Canada, and as Rabbi of Congregation Kadimah-Toras Moshe in Boston, Massachusetts, where he was also held rabbinic roles at Harvard Hillel and the Jewish Community Day School. A love of outdoor activities, he continues to spend time each summer at Camp Yavneh in New Hampshire, where he is a member of the rabbinic staff.
Rabbi Berman resides in Riverdale, New York with his wife Rachel and their three children.
