The International Rabbinic Fellowship expresses its harsh condemnation of the hate and vandalism directed against a Reform synagogue in Raanana and the death threats issued against leaders of the Reform movement in israel and the United States.

Verbal or physical violence of any kind has no place in any of the ideological or political debates that are part of our religious landscape. It is morally and halakhically repugnant, a desecration of God's holy name and undermines the fabric of our shared existence as a people. 

We call on all people of goodwill in the Jewish community to find ways to counter such extremism with positive acts of shared engagement and dialogue, even as we retain our commitment to our own unique vision of the halakhic obligation and the ideal Jewish society.
